Ambulance transportation

Ambulance transportation for interfacility transfers and discharge — BLS and ALS

Nexus Medical Transit provides scheduled ambulance transportation for patients who need clinical support during transport: interfacility transfers, hospital-to-facility and facility-to-home discharges, and appointments that require a stretcher and a trained crew. BLS units are staffed by EMTs; ALS transport adds paramedic-level care for patients whose condition requires it. Every trip is planned with the sending and receiving teams so the patient, paperwork, and timing arrive together.

Nexus provides planned, non-emergency transportation. If this is an emergency, call 911.

BLS vs. ALS

BLS (Basic Life Support) covers stable patients who need EMT care, oxygen, and monitoring.

ALS (Advanced Life Support) adds paramedic interventions and cardiac monitoring for higher-acuity patients. The sending facility's orders determine the level — our team confirms the right level before dispatch.

For facilities

  • One booking workflow for the whole transfer
  • Coordination with discharge planners on readiness and pickup windows
  • LiveCare status visibility for the care team
  • Recurring transfer arrangements for partner facilities
